Thanks for replying, Tommy.
The videos are excellent – make a lot of sense. I watched them several times.
Yesterday I surfed again and the same thing happen – I miss all the waves, unless I catch them at “D” – almost at the point they are breaking. That requires me to sit much closer in – I definitely dropped on few surfers and stole their waves (sorry :))
I have few theories about it:
1) Maybe I am smarter than everyone else in lineup – and I start at correct position, they are wrong 🙂 🙂
2) Maybe it is something about my weight – I am heavier than everyone else, but I also have a bigger board too!
3) I haven’t experimented with body position on the board yet. I try to be at belly point at the middle of the board, maybe I need to lie even further to the nose, so that the nose is barely out of the water. The moment tail lift, I can lower my head and raise my heels to help drop down the wave. So far, I had zero nosedives, maybe the ultimate wave catching is a fine line between nosedives and waves passing under.I also have an option to take a coached session on the wave generator. Feedback from experienced coach would be definitely helpful. I will report back my findings.
