Ahhh don’t get me started… haha, I’ve had one of my boards written off by United, but I have to use them to travel to US really.
Virgin, Quantas, Qatar I’ve never had any issues with!
What can be a gamble is whether they’ll check your board bag length! Many are max 9’0 or 9’6 so if you’re travelling with a 10’ board bag, I’ve always been okay, but have had friends have to leave their boards behind!!
What I do in my coffin bag is bubble wrap between boards, over the rails and I wrap the entire tail and nose with seperate bubble wrap (gets difficult to fit it all in the bag in the end 😂)
I have a mate who uses pool noodles as well but I haven’t tried
I’d be keen to hear other ideas on board bags! I know @Tommy.TenToes does a bit of travel with boards maybe he has some insights?
