    Hi everyone,

Not sure there are already many people here but just wanted to say hi ! Excited about that new platform and looking forward to see what’s going on there.

By the way I’m from Brittany, France. If there is anyone here willing to share a wave or two on a shitty beach break with crazy on-shore wind I’m in (also interested in nice peeler in smooth offshore wind but it this happens much more rarely).

Also planning an hypothetical surf trip in British Cornwall by the end of August if anyone is around and willing to share some good spots.

    See u !

Welcome!! Yes not many people yet as we just did our official launch today! You are actually the 2nd official member besides the friends and family soft launch!

Heyyy!! Welcome, we’ve just launched but will have people rolling through over the coming hours and days haha

Love that though and hope there’s some people nearby who you’ll be able to connect with!

I’m headed to France around mid to late October, heading near Biarritz/Hossegor – if there’s any secret longboard waves over that way let me know haha 😂 , can’t wait!!!

      Hey !

I’ve only surfed in Biarritz and around once last spring.

There this the « Plage des dames » of course but it’s really crowded – with respect to my own standards which are very high or low depending on how you put it : I hate crowds 😂

Otherwise I’ve had a couple of wonderful sessions in Ceniz (not sure how to spell it depending if it’s in French or in Basque). It’s a nice beach break but with rocks on the left that create a wonderful left when tide and swell are good.

I guess you already have plans and people to welcome you there but if you wanna change your plan and come to Britanny I can host you for free, probably share my van to reach the spots and show you tons of nice beaks here – September and October being the best times here for surfing.

I would be a pleasure to host you and learn just watching you surf 😂

Feel free to reach in dm or instagram with the same username if you’re interested 🙌

Oh epic! haha yeah it would be great to find a few places away from the crowds but I know that may be easier said than done 😂 , but will definitely have to check out Ceniz that’s going on my list!!

Oh nice! Thanks so much, we’re spending most of our time a little further south but we have some time in Paris to experience the culture, if we manage to work our way over to the coast whilst we’re up that way I’ll let you know!!! Really appreciate that 🙏🙏

My instagram username is @ben_considine so always happy to chat via there as well 🙂

Ah and speaking of new launch, already encountered a bug. Forums don’t seem to be showing discussions. Working on fixing this now!

    Hey all,

Just to let you know I think there is a small technical issue here.

I have notifications telling me I have answers to my message but the UX hits me with something weird – telling me both that I have replies and that I don’t. Can’t read the replies in the end. Not sure on desktop as I’m on my mobile right now. I’m gonna check later.

      Hey!

I used to live and coach in Cornwall!
As a peninsula, with a North and South Coast, you can nearly always find offshore winds!
If coupled with Swell, then Cornwall is an awesome place to surf!

North Coast spots that are good for longboarding include:
Gwithian, Fistral, Watergate Bay, Polzeath, Black Sands, and Widemouth

South Coast spots that are good for longboarding include:

      Perranuthnoe and Praa Sands

My guess is you’d be best positioned on the North Coast but it’s much cheaper to stay in-land and commute.

I’ll be there the first 2 weeks of August, shame to miss you!

      Tommy

      🤗

        Hey,

Wow ! Thanks a lot for all these indications ! That’s really helpful.

It’s a shame we miss each other but maybe next time (it’s in my life todo-list to spend more time up there 😉

        Thanks again !

Hi! I’m pretty much also an early adopter! Finally a dedicated plateform for longboard! Let me just introduce myself to you. I’m a landlocked longboarder living in Quebec, Canada. I’ve been surfing for about 12 years. Pretty much all my travel time and spate time is spent going down the east coast in the (mostly Maine and Nova Scotia) to surf. I don’t get as much time as i would like in the water, since the nearest wave is 5 hours from were is live.

I can’t wait to exchange with uou guys and get some feedback on my not so good surfing style 😉 Not downplaying my abilities, just stating reality 😉

Heading this weekend in Maine to pick up another new board (not a noserider but something to trim, the new Spoiler). Got to feed my board addiction! Forecast is looking grim but that’s life 😉

    À bientot!

I’m headed to Toronto this weekend, my first-ever visit to Canada!

I checked the maps and realised it’s nowhere near you but if you have any recommendations I’m all ears!

Good luck with the new board 🙂

If you want to try Great Lake surfing, i would recommend you to get in touch with the guys from Surf Ontario. They certainly can point you to the right spot and hook you with some gear. If you are in Toronto downtown, a nice surf shop to visit also is Surf the Greats. If you are really willing, take a plane and head out to Halifax. Nova Scotia is an absolute jewel to surf. Really cold & wild, with plenty of spots unexplored and point breaks everywhere. Honestly, this is an extroardinary coastline. Way better then the canadian pacific coast in my opinion. If you are game to go for it, get in contact with local surfshop owner, the canadian legend Nico Manos (http://www.lawrencetownsurfco.com). I’m sure he will be more then willing to hook you with some gear (they have some Bings for sure and maybe some Donald Takayma’s PU longboards) and point you some nice places to explore. You also can get in touch with another local legend, Dean Petty. He’s part of the Bing surfer team and well renown surfer in Cow Bay, NS. A really nice guy and a really talented longboarder. You never know! Have fun and enjoy your canadian stay 😉

Yup. The three gods of skill crunching in one place. 😉 Great idea, guys. It’s a gift for me. Now, I am only waiting for the announcement of a real-life workshop with you somewhere. Put the idea under discussion, guys!

I am more than happy to be here 🙂
