Anyone use the soloshot self video camera? My friend got one it’s amazing. Thoughts. I can do my own video footage. Especially when she did it and dolphins surfing with her and she never knew until she saw the vids

Hey so I had a pretty bad experience with soloshot. I ordered a camera from them and it took forever to arrive. When it did the camera gyroscope had an issue and when I tried using it the camera would track in the wrong direction and one time it just pointed at the ground and started spinning in a circle. I contacted them and they told me they could repair the camera and send it back to me, but it took so long and it was so frustrating I asked for a refund. It took about a month and a half before I got the refund and they refunded it to the wrong credit card. Super frustrating. It’s a really cool product and I had high hopes, but it was a bust. Seems like it’s the only think like it on the market so I might try again someday.

Yeah I think it’s potentially a great product and I might have gotten unlucky. However for the price I think there were just too many issues. Another issue I found is that it relies on a solid GPS signal and depending on where you’re surfing it may or may not be able to connect and track. Maybe the tech is just not quite there. Seems like there’s room for a Longboard Sessions video tracker if y’all want to take a stab at it haha.

Ah yes the solo shot. Iv’e only heard people getting annoyed by that thing lol. However, skippersurfreview guy has used his for a long time. He says it’s quirky, but you can get it to work.
I started having a long chat with chat gpt about manufacturing my own so i’ll keep everyone posted about that haha. But, the one I want to make would simply be a motorized head with a gps tracking system. So you’d still need to slap a camera on the top of it. It also wouldn’t be cheap.. I’m looking at like $1500 just in material to build. However, it would be accurate to like 5 cm lol
